Managing Editor
Richelle Wilson is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of German, Nordic, and Slavic. Her dissertation is an interdisciplinary analysis of IKEA as a site of Swedish nationalism and her broad research interests include contemporary literature and film, labor studies, and public humanities. Faculty Advising Editor
Mario Ortiz-Robles is the Mellon-Morgridge Professor of English at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he teaches courses on nineteenth-century European literature, the history of the novel, and animal studies. He is the author of The Novel as Event (2010, Michigan), Literature and Animal Studies (2016, Routledge), and co-editor of Narrative Middles (2011, Ohio State). Nicolle Etchart is a Ph.D. candidate in Geography. Her research investigates the effects of climate change mitigation initiatives and regulation on people and forests in Latin America. Currently, she is focused on exploring the effects of voluntary conservation payments and protected area regulation on farmers’ land use, tenure security, and their relationship with the state, in an agricultural frontier in Ecuador’s northeastern Amazon. Kuhelika Ghosh (she/her) is a Literary Studies Ph.D. student in the English department. Her research interests lie at the intersections of postcolonial literature and the environmental humanities. She is particularly interested in questions of multispecies justice, posthumanism, and feminist new materialisms within postcolonial diasporas. Contact.

Addie Hopes (she/her) is a Ph.D. candidate in the English Department (Literary Studies). She’s a former Managing Editor of Edge Effects (2018-2019; 2020-2021), an editorial assistant at Contemporary Literature, and a Fiction editor at The Hopper. When she’s not writing a dissertation about documentary ecopoetry, she’s thinking about queer and feminist approaches to mermaids and speculative multispecies worlds. Justyn Huckleberry is a Ph.D. candidate in the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies and a Center for Humanities HEX scholar. Her current research focuses on how people experience different types of conservation and extractive-industry development-induced displacement differently. His current research focuses on the conservation of beneficial insects in agricultural landscapes, using lady beetles in Wisconsin as a model system. Weishun Lu is a Ph.D. student in the English Department (Literary Studies). Her research interests include contemporary poetry and ethnic humor. In particular, she looks at affective relations evoked by politically engaged literature and rhetoric. Contact.
